The Underdeveloped exhibition series approaches art as a collaborative effort and one of building together. Once again, Garage Rotterdam will be transformed into an intimate living room, a communal environment in which you can contribute to the exhibitions’ evolution at any time.

Limestone Books, starting in 2024, extends an invitation to local organisations in Maastricht to participate in an ongoing library. Each organisation curates a selection of 20 books, reflecting the issues they advocate for or texts that hold significance for their members. Alongside our own collection, these contributions form a Community Library—an evolving assemblage where residents of Maastricht can borrow books simply by leaving their contact details.

For Underdeveloped #2, Limestone Books collaborates with Yen-Ting Kuan to invite several Rotterdam-based organisations and individuals to construct a temporary library for ten weeks. Each organisation contributes a small selection of books and offers a brief five-minute reflection on their choices: why these books, and for whom? The underlying premise remains constant—books as sites of community-building, cross-organisational dialogue, and infrastructural entanglement.
